How we got started
If you're here, then like me, you have this burning desire to be more than you currently are. For me, that passion manifests in three key areas: my family, my career in anesthesia, and my commitment to mentoring. Even after nearly a decade as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant, I still feel incredibly fortunate to go to work each day—in fact, I still find myself saying how I GET to go to work! And for over two decades, I've cherished the opportunity to teach and mentor students, from my fellow classmates to aspiring nurses to now pre-AA and current AA students.
Despite all these wonderful blessings this profession has given me over the years, I still remember the challenges of navigating the complexities of the application process, the program itself, and negotiating my first job as a CAA. This is why I created the Avid Mentor Community—because I believe in the power of community and personalized guidance, just as the mentors who helped me get to where I am today.
